Uplift Academy covers AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and Cambridge International AS and A Level (CIE). Each tutor specialises in their specific board's mark scheme, paper structure, and required content. If your child's school uses AQA, their tutor will know the AQA specification, not a general A Level overview.
AS Level is taken in Year 12. For AQA, OCR and Edexcel it is a separate one-year qualification and does not count towards the full A Level. For Cambridge International, AS marks can carry forward into the full A Level. The full A Level is examined at the end of Year 13 and is what university offers are based on. Uplift Academy supports students from Year 12 through to their final exams.
Yes. Every student is assigned one dedicated A Level tutor at the start of the engagement. That tutor stays with your child through to their final exam. We never rotate tutors for operational reasons. The only time a tutor changes is at a parent's request. That is the promise, and we keep it.
Most competitive UK universities require AAA or above for their top courses. Oxford and Cambridge typically ask for A*AA or A*A*A. Medicine typically requires AAA to A*AA, including Chemistry. A* is awarded to students above the A* grade boundary on the full A Level, which the exam board sets each year from raw marks. Our students have achieved A* results across Mathematics, Sciences, and English, with admissions to Oxford, Imperial, UCL, and Harvard.
